Written by Dean Contreras and edited by Jason Lopez and Keren Munoz It was a chilly Monday, and a long one too—we spent some 15 hours together. But why? We visited two college campuses: San Antonio College (SAC) & UTSA; as well as San Antonio studios: KLRN-PBS Studios & Texas Public Radio (TPR). Our day surpassed our ideas of a “career exploration trip”, leaving us with a more profound vision for our future. It was truly an eye-opener and we felt the need to capture this experience. Recounting what Media Tech students took from the day, we have a video to encapsulate it all. Without the support of our audio-video teacher's, Mr. Sanchez and Mr. Gonzalez; our CTE Department; and the collaboration between SAC, UTSA, KLRN-PBS Studios, and TPR, this trip wouldn’t have been possible. Eagle Pass Media Tech would like to especially thank the following individuals, they’re the ones who opened the doors for our students. UTSA Communications and Marketing Dr. Paul Le Blanc - Professor and Chair KLRN-PBS Studios TV - San Antonio Shari St. Clair SAC Radio/TV Broadcast Department Bob Flores Texas Public Radio Nathan Cone Audio/Video Teacher Francisco M. Sanchez Eagle Pass ISD CTE Department Director Mrs. Anne Castillon Thank you to UTSA, Texas Public Radio, KLRN-PBS Studios, and SAC for allowing us to visit your workplace and learn a great amount of something we all love. This video is a token of our appreciation and we are immensely grateful for such a wonderful experience.

On December 7th, 2017, everyone woke up to see snow falling from the sky in Eagle Pass Texas. It was a miracle to see snow because most South Texas kids dream of snow but never get the chance to see snow in real life. During that morning everyone was playing in the snow and started making snow angels, snowmen, and snowballs to throw at each other. We questioned whether school would still be open or get cancelled due to the inclement weather. Everyone wanted school to get cancelled, but fortunately for us it didn’t because we were then able to enjoy the snow with our friends and teachers.
As Audio/Video students, we were full of glee to have the opportunity to capture this memorable moment with respect to writing and filming this very exciting day. With our EP Monthly magazine Holiday Edition, EPTV 2017 Holiday Edition, and EP Vlog 2017 Christmas Edition segments, this snow day will be remembered as an opportunity to make great content and to end 2017 with a blast.

Written by Eleazar Perez and edited by Jason Lopez The last time it snowed in Eagle Pass, Texas was the year of 1985. 12-07-17 changed all that around with a significant amount of snow hitting the dry land of EP. This video shows my experience of this special day! Enjoy!
