EP ORIGINS WITH MS. KING
|
A few months ago, the Practicum class had the chance to collaborate with Ms. King on a playlist for Spotify. The intention of the playlist is to get a closer and different perspective of one of our favorite math teachers.
From the most underground indie pop to the 90’s country sing alongs, EP Boombox has tunes that will suit anybody’s taste. Whether you are an alternative punk junkie or just someone wondering what your favorite teacher’s top songs are, EP Boombox has what you need. |

EP MOMENTS-SMALL TOWN BIG MOMENTS!!!
The Lake: (photo by Kayla Alvarez) The Maverick County Lake is a great, yet underrated, place to take pictures. It is usually driven past. Even those who take the time to walk around it’s beautiful scenery never realize how effective the scenery is for pictures. It’s another great place to go at anytime of the day, however for the most appealing quality, it’s best to go 30-40 minutes before the sun sets. |
Victorian House: (photo by Kayla Alvarez) The Victorian house is an unexpected figure to be seen in Eagle Pass. The Victorian house is the perfect backdrop, its vintage appearance gives any photo an aesthetic appearance. |
Playground under the bridge: (photo by Kayla Alvarez)This playground features a colorful play area which may serve as a beautiful backdrop. It has one stone table with a roof and a grill available for a small cook out while you’re there. To top it all off it's under a bridge so you'll always have gentle lighting. This place offers vibrant colors, soft lighting, and even some trees for your photo taking needs. Enjoy! |
Amphitheater: (photo by Alex De La Pena)The Amphitheater is a historical location in Eagle Pass. It was an attempt to have a riverwalk-like location, in fact, the pictures taken do have that certain riverwalk vibe to them. The best time to go is 30-40 minutes before the sun sets. It’s single arch is a satisfying background for your photos. |
Railroad park (Jan Do Guedea park): (photo by Rolando Munoz)This park features one of the biggest slides in Eagle Pass (I mean really,..., wow =D). A big grassy field coupled with medium sized live oak trees make a beautiful backdrop. There are plenty of benches for your models to sit on. Golden (40 minutes before the sun sets or rises) hour works well in this location |
Aztec Theater: (photo by Alex De La Pena) The Aztec theater is a building of nostalgia got residence of Eagle Pass. It was the original cinema before the theater in the mall. Still, today it can be used as a background for different styles, at any time. |
Fort Duncan: Fort Duncan was established in March 27 1849 for the Mexican war. U.S soldiers were stationed there during the invasion of Mexico. Then in May 1859 it was ordered to be abandoned. But Robert E Lee ordered the fort occupied in March 1860. It served many years of war till finally August 31, 1883. Today it is used as a nice park filled with many options. It has over 2 baseball fields. 2 basket ball fields . and lots of playgrounds. This place is great place to host parties and get togethers. It is located next to a golf course as well as a children's library. With many options you and your family are guaranteed to enjoy your day. Fort Duncan offers many photographs. From nice scenes to small bugs. |
Fort Duncan Infantry Barracks: (photo by Alex De La Pena) The historical Fort Duncan Infantry Barracks is another unexpected, but great spot for Pictures. The Barracks built around 1868, gives your picture an authentic, antique, look, with the best lighting at around 30 minutes before the sunsets. |
Hillcrest: (photo by Rolando Munoz) The top of Hillcrest is visually appealing to any eye. Hillcrest gives you a surreal point view of Eagle Pass as you can see, the cascading houses, the nature scenery, and a perfect view of the sunset. It isn’t called lover’s lane for nothing. |
San Juan Plaza: (photo by Rolando Munoz) The San Juan Plaza is a historical figure in Eagle Pass. It’s great to go at any time of the day. Whether for picture taking or admiring the beautiful nature scenery. However, in order to get the mood of pearly white gates opening up and Heaven’s light gleaming in, the best time to take pictures would be 40-50 minutes before the sun sets. Happy shooting. |
Corazon Verde: (photo by Alex De La Pena) This is actually a restaurant with a lot of character. They have a professionally trained chef on staff which caters only during lunch and provides a single 3 course meal. The menu can be found on their Facebook page. They also provide brunch on Saturdays. The restaurant serves freshly picked veggies and fruits from their garden. A picturesque place by far. Tell them Eagle Public Radio sent ya. |
International Railroad Bridge Eagle Pass Texas- (photo by Alex De La Pena) This beauty can be found right next to our golf course. The rigid lines and backdrop of the Rio Grande make this an ideal place for senior pictures. |
