Then you need to join EPHS UIL Academics Informative Speaking team. In contrast, if you have a need to analyze a current issue, determine a point of view, and then organize and deliver a speech then seeks to convince the listener to agree with your viewpoint then Persuasive Speaking is your cup of tea. The informative and Persuasive UIL Academics team is looking for sharp wits and tongues that can think in their toes, and convince the listeners to take their side. Future attorneys would make excellent candidates for this contest. I'm looking for students that can land a punch virtually with their quick wits. Does winning an argument excite you? The Eagle Pass Cross Country Staff would like to congratulate the varsity girls on their 3rd district title in 4 years and the varsity boys for bringing home the runner-up team title at this Friday's District Cross Country Championships in Eagle Pass. The district champion team was led by Karina Fernandez and followed closely by Isel Garza, freshmen sensation Victoria Bartlett, Andrea Garcia, Analia Trevino, Ana Christina Alvarez and Jenna Roiz. The boys team was led by OJ Ruiz and was followed by Noah Gonzalez, Jaime Barrera, Diego Davila, Jorge Aguilar, Alan Devila and Sebastian Villarreal. The Cross Country teams will compete at the Region IV Cross Country Championship held in Corpus Christi on Monday, October 28th. The Cross Country team would like to thank everyone for their support. Seniors, if you didn't take senior portraits or wish to have them redone, you will need to contact the photographer. Please see Mr. Donley in room D-144 for more information. In order to be in the yearbook, you must have your portraits taken by the end of October. Also, seniors- if you took your senior portraits but didn't pick up your proofs, please see Mr. Donley so that you can contact the photographer. EPHS will be having its homecoming week from Monday October 21 to Friday October 25. Its fixing to get really fun and exciting around campus and we hope that everyone participates so we can have the best homecoming yet. This year's theme is "eagles: We've got the beat!" and it 's a music theme so get ready to see a lot of celebrities around campus. Homecoming Reps, please make sure to submit your homecoming eligibility form and contracts by Monday October 14 ,at 12P.M. noon in Room C-28. If you don't have a copy of the eligibility form and contract go by your sponsors so they can give you copies. You might as well get a copy of the campaign rules too because you are going to need them. Don't forget there will be a MANDATORY meeting at 5:30 P.M. put on Monday October 14. All reps are required to show up along with a parent and sponsor. Don't ruin your chances of participating in homecoming by not going to the meeting. Classes are you ready to do battle?
